Exclusions
Description Students attend a host university overseas for one semester. They will follow modules as agreed with their home school/department, which should build on their existing knowledge. The modules to be studied will be equivalent in credit terms to a full semester of study at Birmingham, but subjects will be varied according to availability and student preference; the opportunity to study subjects not available at Birmingham will be encouraged.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the subjects studied
  • Understand the different approaches applied to the subjects in an academic institution outside the UK.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work and produced assessed work independently.
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:

Assessments: As required by the host institution. The marks awarded by the host institution will be translated and included in the calculation of the final Degree result according to UoB formulae

Reassessment:

7000 word project/portfolio if the whole module is failed, or 4000 word project/portfolio to cover other learning if less than the whole module is failed (the student will be advised accordingly).
