Description Practising Public History will take a hands-on approach to creating history outside of academia. Students will work in group on a locally focused project. This could be in the form of an exhibition, podcast or oral history interview. The course will teach students to evaluate public history practices alongside new practical skills in exhibit design, genealogy, digital media, local and community history, or oral history. It encourages students to think creatively whilst also meeting the needs of the audience. This course is specifically aimed at those students who wish to pursue a career in the sector, such as curating, project management, oral historian, genealogist, historical consultant, engagement officer or history TV researcher.
