In this module students consolidate linguistic skills gained in Latin 1 and 2, or at A-level or equivalent. Students work through selected aspects of advanced Latin grammar, continue to add to the range of their Latin vocabulary, and practise unseen translation. They work on selected literary texts in prose and/or verse, using scholarly commentaries and developing their dictionary skills as well as their commentary skills. Students learn to comment and reflect on their own and others' translations. Scholarly literature is read alongside set texts to deepen and contextualise understanding.
