During this module, you will become familiar with a number of important pathogens and gain a detailed understanding of how these microorganisms cause diseases. You will be challenged to think about what makes a microorganism a pathogen in different environmental (host) contexts and to understand the modern approaches that are used to investigate the interactions between disease-causing microorganisms and their hosts.
