This 120 credit ‘LANS Year Abroad’ module provides students with the opportunity to study abroad for a year following completion of Year 2 of their programme. Following the completion of the year, the students returns to the host institution to complete their degree and this module will be replaced by the ones studied abroad. The year undertaken by the student will typically (although not always) be related to the programme of study at the home institution. This is a compulsory aspect of the LANS degree.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Apply and demonstrate knowledge in an area of study commensurate with that of other students following a standard undergraduate programme.
Adjust to a new culture.
Demonstrate the ability to study at an international institution and to appreciate the possible differences between the UK and overseas.
Take personal responsibility for acting in a professional and ethical manner at a host institution.
Improve the use of a foreign language in a non-English speaking country, where applicable
