Joint disease is a major clinical burden. This module will draw on excellent local expertise to study the pathophysiological features of selected rheumatological disorders. The clinical presentation and management of these problems will be addressed. Several lectures will address current topics in orthopaedic practice and will demonstrate the close relationship between the two disciplines.

Discuss the pathogenesis and classification of rheumatologic diseases;
Evaluate the current challenges in the management of these disorders;
Understand how recent advances in orthopaedic surgery are contributing to the effective management of rheumatological disorders;
