This module builds on learning undertaken in Placement One acquiring the relevant professional knowledge, skills and behaviours required at qualifying level. Students will also gain an understanding of the role of the KSS as a framework for post-qualifying practice, in preparation for future employment.
The module will allow students to build their practice experience in social work tasks and apply legislation to their work. They will continue to build their understanding and apply theories and methods that underpin social work practice. There will continue to be a particular focus on incorporating and learning from the perspectives of service users and carers in undertaking processes of assessment and in the planning and delivery of social work support and intervention.
Students will be equipped with the skills to apply for employment opportunities and understand their obligations and opportunities in relation to Continuous Professional Development. Including an understanding of the Social Work Knowledge and Skills Statements (KSS) with which they will be assessed once in employment.
