Description The purpose of this component is to encourage students to further develop a number of skills which are critical for their on-going development on their course but also for their future employability prospects. To achieve this goal, the component will focus on the non-module specific skills acquired during the year. This will NOT require any additional assessment other than the production of a portfolio of evidence, intended to encourage student engagement. Students will be required to:

1) Engage with their Personal Tutors during progress tutorials and reflect on the subject and transferable/ employability skills that they are developing, with the aid of feedback that they have received

2) Engage with Careers Network, attend a couple of Careers events during the year, reflect on their career options and develop a suitable CV.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a willingness and understanding of how to engage in reflective practice relating to their learning experiences
  • Articulate their plans and next steps in their career pathway
  • Develop a curriculum vitae that suitably demonstrates their achievements during their course
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessments: Pass/ Fail, Judgement will be based on the basis of successful engagement with developing their portfolio of reflections

Reassessment: Students judged not to have achieved the minimum level of engagement required will be required to complete the missing components at the next available opportunity
