Description 00976:
Workshop: This module comprises a series of workshops at which physics understanding is developed through solving general problems. Training is also provided in various communication skills through essay writing, report presentation and oral presentations. Students also discuss plagiarism and are given instruction as to what constitutes plagiarism as well as auto-plagiarism.

Computing: Programming skills are introduced and developed during weekly periods in the computing laboratory.
Learning Outcomes

This module is designed to assist students in their understanding of the relationship between different areas of physics, the application of this understanding to the solution of real life problems and the communication skills needed to convey their knowledge to others. Students also gain skills in the use of a commercial mathematical analysis package and a formal
programming language.
