Description

Students are required to undertake a number of scripted experiments (9 in total) which have been designed to introduce and further develop a number of key experimental techniques and skills. Example techniques/skills include: microscale techniques; Schlenk techniques; advanced synthesis; anaerobic manipulations/reactions; vacuum line manipulations.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate competence with a number of advanced techniques/skills;
  • Demonstrate the development of new, specialist spectroscopic skills;
  • Demonstrate the ability (through practice) to apply a number of spectroscopic techniques in structure elucidation.
