The purpose of this module is to improve skills in solving general problems which may come from any area of the undergraduate programme and are often related to "real life" problems of the sort which students may have to deal with in the outside world. Successful solution of this sort of problem requires; (1) students learn to recognise what is the relevant area of physics, (ii) they have a secure knowledge of the base level physics in all relevant areas. This module is aimed at enhancing student ability in both these areas by a combination of non-assessed problem sheets, directed reading and whole class tutorials. There are 4 class tests which count towards the module mark. |
