Description

This is a research project-based module. Students are required to undertake projects chosen from a wide and varied list of titles. The work is designed to promote independent learning, although academic support is available. The results of the work are communicated using a written dissertation and oral presentation.

Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an ability to carry out project-based work;
  • Demonstrate an ability for independent learning and time management;
  • Demonstrate an ability for reflection upon and analysis of results, and for forward planning;
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate the results of their research using written and oral methods.
Assessment 10868-01 : Continual Assessment : Dissertation (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessments:
Literature research project: Continuously assessed using presentations (written and oral) and an interview (on the project work). Overall Project Mark is determined as follows: Proficiency of project work 10%, Written Report 60%, Oral Presentation 10%, Interview 20%.
