Description This is a totally laboratory-based module. Students will complete a sub-set of a range of laboratory exercises offered by a number of Schools from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The module additionally involves developing skills in report writing, maintaining a laboratory diary, the interpretation of data and the presentation of scientific investigations. Team working skills will also be enhanced. Training in aspects relating to Health and Safety is also provided.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module the student should be able to:
  • Demonstrate practical use of equipment in the laboratory;
  • Interpret data, including use of graphs;
  • Present scientific observations in a coherent and sound manner and draw logical conclusions.
