Emphasis is placed on accreditation of laboratory skills and in the maintenance of a laboratory notebook, which represent two important aspects for professional chemists.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate proficiency in separation, measurement and manipulative skills in the laboratory;
Acquire and interpret analytical data;
Present scientific observations in a coherent and sound manner, and to maintain a laboratory notebook;
Demonstrate proficiency in basic molecular orbital calculations.
Assessment
28583-01 : Practical : Practical (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions
Assessments: Assessment of laboratory notebook, the quality of the data produced in the laboratory and its interpretation.
