Exclusions
Description This module will cover core concepts in the field of youth mental health (epidemiology of onset of disorders, transitions between services, primary and secondary prevention, and school-based mental health) as well as introduction to mental health service delivery and policy, from an international perspective. The module will also include an introduction to service user and carer involvement, co-production, and rights & advocacy.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module, students should be able to:
  • Critically consider the key concepts in youth mental health
  • Appraise the evidence relating to the major mental health problems of childhood and adolescence, including neurodevelopmental disorders, and of disorders which begin in early adulthood.
  • Evaluate key models of service delivery in youth mental health and of policy, from an international perspective.
  • Critically consider the importance of service user and carer involvement in healthcare and the principles of co-production.
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:
