This module introduces students on biosciences courses to the essential skills and attributes required for study of these subjects. The module supports students to develop basic maths and statistics skills for application within other modules on the course, academic writing and academic integrity, evaluation of scientific sources and referencing and communicating in a range of formats. The module also introduces students to the role of enterprise within the biosciences, the variety of ways entrepreneurial skills can be demonstrated and applied within our subject. The Module is delivered via a combination of laboratory practical sessions, PC cluster workshops, academic skills centre workshops, lectures and tutorials with Personal Academic Tutors.

By the end of the module students should be able to:
