Description
The overall purpose of this module is for students to collaborate with others and stakeholders to create and deliver a research and innovation start-up initiative. This project will offer solutions of quality, value and impact to societal, user, business and client needs in the sports industry. Students will be required to make informed judgements on the quality of research questions and proposals, their benefits, risk, viability, impact, and reach; to create and use frameworks for research development and project management to drive an innovation start-up initiative; and to work collaboratively with their peers to manage and deliver their project.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:

Create and use frameworks for research development and project management to drive an innovation start-up initiative.
Work effectively with colleagues to engage stakeholders with the startup process of 'discovery, define, design, and deliver', and evaluate its success.
Assessment A): Consultancy Challenge Business Proposal (Digital Poster and 'One-Pager') 30% of module mark; within first third of Semester 2; group based.
Assessment B): Group based Innovation Showcase Presentation 20 min, plus 20 min Q&A) and Business Case (2000 words) 70% of module mark; end of Semester 2.
