Description
This module introduces and discusses the main drivers for change in the construction industry over the last decade, and the techniques which have been, and are being developed to identify and manage improvements in value and decrease in waste of all kinds (with terms defined in the broadest terms). Topics addressed include Managing the Process, Managing Quality, Managing Value, Managing Waste, Managing People and Relationships, and Managing Time.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module the student should be:
familiar with the significance of the main drivers for change on construction industry projects;
aware of and understand the key techniques being developed /used for implementing improvements in the industry;
able to apply the knowledge gained about selected techniques to example cases.
