Exclusions
Description The personal research project will develop the ability to work as an independent researcher through experience, tutorial support and close supervision from a research supervisor. The student will be expected to find and research the literature on the project topic, plan a course of action, undertake and complete the plan of work using the techniques appropriate to the project. The student will analyse the results in order to draw conclusions, suggest further work and report the results both in writing and orally.
Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module the student should be able to:

  • Plan and undertake a substantial piece of independent research or development;
  • Find and critically evaluate relevant literature on the topic of the investigation;
  • Write a substantial report on the findings of the investigation;
  • Report results orally.
