Students work in sub-groups of 4-5 on a topic which is linked to the research interests of one of the University’s industrial partners. Each subgroup appoints a team leader and then plan both the background literature review and the research of the group. Projects typically involve a range of experimental and modelling tasks and take advantage of the University’s research equipment. The module is assessed through a Work Management Plan, Problem Sheets, Peer Assessment, Project Talk, Project Report and Viva.
