Description Students learn about the design of Immersive Virtual, Augmented and Mixed reality systems and their underlying emerging technologies. They acquire a working knowledge in the design of such systems, human-in-the-loop considerations, input interfaces and their processing characteristics, output interfaces and their rendering characeteristics, the use of artificial intellegence in animation and interaction, and the use of industry-standard tools to demonstrate application development.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • ꮧExplain and Demonstrate knowledge of Virtual and Mixed Reality Engineering
  • Identify, Design and Evaluate Mixed Reality Applications .

Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:

The two LO are separately assessed:LO1: Examination 2 hours 50%- A working knowledge of the technologies. LO2: Coursework 50% - A presentation of application development complemented with a conference-style paper describing its design of maximum length 2000 words.
