Safeguarding is led by the BIA for under 18s, academics teaching this module would not have 1-1 meetings with students in private offices with U18. Academics having 1-1 tutorials will be DBS checked and aware of relevant safeguarding procedures
This module explains basic electric circuits, including properties and behaviour of resistors, capacitors and inductors, together with the properties of electric and magnetic fields.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of electric circuits and calculate currents, voltages and power in resistors, capacitors and inductors
Show a basic understanding electric fields, their production by charges, their effect on other charges and their behaviour in dielectrics
Show a basic understanding of magnetic fields, including their generation by electric currents, their effect on static and moving electric charges and their behaviour in magnetic materials.
