Restrictions Safeguarding is led by the BIA for under 18s, academics teaching this module would not have 1-1 meetings with students in private offices with U18. Academics having 1-1 tutorials will be DBS checked and aware of relevant safeguarding procedures
Exclusions
Description This module explains basic electric circuits, including properties and behaviour of resistors, capacitors and inductors, together with the properties of electric and magnetic fields.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of electric circuits and calculate currents, voltages and power in resistors, capacitors and inductors
  • Show a basic understanding electric fields, their production by charges, their effect on other charges and their behaviour in dielectrics
  • Show a basic understanding of magnetic fields, including their generation by electric currents, their effect on static and moving electric charges and their behaviour in magnetic materials.
Assessment 37565-01 : Exam : Exam (School Arranged) - Written Unseen (50%)
37565-02 : Class Test 1 : Class Test (20%)
37565-04 : Class Test 2 : Class Test (30%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions 100% continuous assessment (Online, fixed time period exams and assessments and In-Course tests). Reassessent: 100% exam in the supplementary period
