Description Research in artificial intelligence and machine learning is advancing at a formidable pace. This module will consist of a series of seminar-style short courses that will cover recent results from the literature. Each topic will be introduced by a staff member and students will then develop their knowledge via directed reading and present their findings to the class. Each topic will be accompanied by weekly quizzes that will test students’ understanding.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of recent advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • make effective oral and written presentations
  • engage effectively in discussions about recent research
