Restrictions Safeguarding is led by the BIA for under 18s, academics teaching this module would not have 1-1 meetings with students in private offices with U18. Academics having 1-1 tutorials will be DBS checked and aware of relevant safeguarding procedures

Exclusions
Description This introductory module develops confidence and knowledge of basic mathematical skills and problem solving techniques. Topics covered include basic algebra, functions, logarithms and exponentials, binomial theorem, progressions and trigonometry.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Manipulate algebraic expressions and solve equations including polynomials, logarithms and exponentials
  • Sketch simple functions
  • Use binomial theorem, algebraic progressions and geometric progressions to solve problems
  • Use trigonometry to solve problems in geometry
