Description In this module, the mathematical foundations required for the programme will be introduced. It will review and extend students’ knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, differentiation, integration and the solution of differential equations. Further mathematical foundations required for the programme will be introduced. It will introduce logical and mathematical ideas fundamental to computation.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module sutdents should be able to:
  • Use algebraic and trigonometric techniques proficiently
  • Use differential calculus to solve engineering problems
  • Use integral calculus to solve engineering problems
  • Solve differential equations
  • Use propositional logic proficiently
  • Use the formalism of models of computation proficiently
