Description

It is important to be aware of the complexities of human behaviour and its influence on the culture, processes, and effectiveness of an organisation.  This module is intended to provide a broad overview of organisational behaviour.  The topic will be examined through a look at key concepts, their applications and limitations.  Three themes will serve as a module guide: the individual, the group, and the organisation. Upon completion of this module it is envisioned that you will have an increased understanding of historical and current organisational behaviour concepts and their role in local, international and global contexts.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module students should be able to:

  • identify and evaluate the different levels at which organisations operate and the different perspectives from which they can be studied;

  • analyse historical and contemporary management practices.
