Description The module aims to take the analysis of financial accounts beyond simple ratio analysis. It provides an understanding of the relationship between information and the movement of share prices. Each lecture will be backed up by classes which will be concerned with a practical issue.
Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module students should be able to:

  • critically evaluate the usefulness and limitations of financial statements;
  • demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of financial accounts;
  • identify and analyse the techniques used in aggressive earnings management;
  • to link the analysis of financial statements with the valuation of shares.
