Description

The module examines how an organisation presents itself to an audience. This audience can be internal to the company, or external. Topics covered will vary as the methods used in communications are changing rapidly, but topics such as the role and function of Human Resource Management and its link with communication, changes in leadership, communication channel selection and podcasting and webcasting will be covered.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module the student should be able to:

  • demonstrate a knowledge and critical understanding of the role of internal and external communicators and communication theory;
  • identify key communication theory and practice, and apply this to audio and visual communications,
  • critically evaluate models and practices and apply theory to analyse modern communication practices.
