Description This module is intended to build on the Principles of Auditing module and focus on enabling students to evaluate audit evidence and make reasoned judgements. It will focus on providing students with an awareness of and the ability to critically evaluate contemporary changes in the audit market, audit standards, audit methodologies and other assurance services.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • describe and explain how audit evidence is established and evaluated;
  • understand how auditors use audit evidence to draw and make professional judgements;
  • demonstrate an awareness of current developments in the audit profession and other assurance services;
  • demonstrate a critical approach to their understanding of auditing and the role of the auditing profession.
