Description Type A - Management Challenge dissertation seeks to enable students to undertake a piece of consulting research based within an organisation. Type A dissertation is composed of:
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Undertake a piece of consultancy research end to end
  • Identify and key issues and communicate key findings and recommendations to clients
  • Project manage in terms of establishing the scope of the project, the resources available and delivering the project on time and to an approriate standard
  • Critically review relevant literature and theoretical frameworks in a chosen research area
  • Select and apply and justify appropriate and ethical research methods
  • Demonstrate an understanding of data anaylsis in business research
  • Relate theory to research findings, draw relevant conclusions and consider the implications and limitations of the research which has been undertaken
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessments: The assessment is made up of the following components:
Management challenge report and presentation (4000 words) – 40%
Project management report (1500 words) – 10%
Dissertation (6000 - 7000 words) – 50%.
