Exclusions
Description This module will focus on the development of academic and professional skills. The academic skills element will focus on the use of academic and practitioner literature to underpin study. The professional skills element will concentrate on developing group working and presentation skills.

The module will mix class based teaching with practical activities. A residential visit will provide a focus for the team working skills that form an important part of the module.
Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module students should be able to:

  • search, select and use a variety of information sources both academic and practice related;
  • present verbally and in writing to high standard modifying styles for specific audiences;
  • work successfully as part of a team delivering specific outputs and reflect on their individual contributions to group activities;
  • discuss the nature of the accounting and finance profession along with its role in society and the challenges it faces.

Reassessment: Company report (100%) – 2000 words financial review of a chosen company.
