This module introduces students to:
The development and dynamics of management and governance of public services
The role of the state in society
Contemporary issues in the delivery of services delivered by governments
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Evaluate the theories that inform debates about the management of public services.
Explain the core concepts in public management and identify their practical implications.
Demonstrate the ability to analyse organisations from a public management perspective and develop recommendations for change informed by relevant theories and concepts.
