Description
This module is about the markets for foreign exchange and other foreign financial assets. Different methods of determining foreign exchange rates are considered together with the reasons for variation in exchange rates. Some techniques of hedging foreign exchange risk are also considered.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
demonstrate how to perform a range of transactions on foreign exchange markets;
critically evaluate theories of foreign exchange rates and apply the theories;
predict the direction of change in foreign exchange rates; and
critically assess the strengths and weaknesses of a range of techniques that are often used to reduce foreign exchange risk and apply the techniques.
