Description	This module covers topical issues relating to the financial sector, such as: corporate governance; regulatory and supervisory issues; high speed trading, fiduciary responsibilities, conflicts of interest, predatory and responsible lending and borrowing, socially responsible investment, Islamic finance, stewardship, responsibilities of asset managers and pensions fund trustees, the corporate pensions deficit problem, inter alia.
Learning Outcomes	By the end of the module students should be able to: Discriminate and critically appraise the roles of commercial banks and investment institutions within the financial system. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the governance roles of banks and other financial institutions. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of responsible investment and stewardship. Explain and critically appraise the regulation and supervision of financial institutions.
