Description This is an introductory course in the planning and financial analysis of public sector investment projects and programmes. The emphasis is on small scale revenue-generating projects in the context of developing the transitional countries. Topics covered include the project cycle, planning based upon logical framework, financial forecasts and discounted methods of project valuation.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the project design and appraisal process
  • be able to apply planning and analytical techniques to design revenue-generating projects
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the role of project led-investment in international development.
