Description
This module takes an applied approach to econometric analysis, and how data is used to inform policy analysis. The approach is grounded in an understanding of relevant econometric theory, deepening and broadening students' knowledge and understanding of econometric techniques needed for empirical analysis of a range of micro- and macroeconomic data. There is a practical focus on handling and analysing data, and interpreting econometric results, across a range of applications. The module goes on to analyse how both theory and data are used to inform and evaluate economic policy, in a range of public-sector settings. There is a focus on how to communicate both empirical and policy analysis, and consideration given to issues relating to sustainability and social responsibility in policy formulation.
