Description
Good mobility systems are fundamental in delivering environmental and social sustainability while also addressing issues around Climate Change, this module would introduce the impacts of motorisation, our current unsustainable travel patterns, and the framework for delivering sustainable urban mobility. To understand how the future of mobility lies in being sustainable, networked, digital and shared with more connections and sharing of transport modes, students will engage with a wide range of conceptual approaches (Social-science based mobilities theories; Connecting mobility, climate change & social inequalities, Sustainable mobility and transport; Mobility justice, Active Mobility/travel and Health, Transit-oriented development, among others). As governance and planning remains central to sustainable mobility endeavours, the module will engage with practicing domains of mobility planning and regulations with RTA.
