Exclusions
Description Students attend a host university overseas for one semester in Semester 2 of Year 2. The host institutions will be pre-selected by the department. Students will follow modules as agreed with their home school/department, which should build on their existing knowledge from the first 18 month of study and match the curriculum of their degree. The modules to be studied will be equivalent in credit terms to a full semester of study at Birmingham
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the subjects studied (politics, international relations, and adjacent fields)
  • Understand the different approaches applied to the subjects in an academic institution outside the UK
  • Demonstrate an ability to work and produced assessed work independently.
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment
As required by the host institution. The marks awarded by the host institution will be translated and included in the calculation of the final Degree result according to UoB formulae.

Reassessment
A 3000-word essay on any topic approved by the Exchange Tutors to be submitted in the supplementary period.
