Students devise, research and complete a language project in Spanish (2000 ¿ 2500 words), which they submit by the end of the second semester. The subject of the project should relate to the fields of Spanish or Latin American business, economics, politics or culture. The subject must be different from that of any language projects in the Department. The topic on which the project is to be written must be pre-approved by the Language Instructor.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module the student should be able to:
Exercise independent learning and research skills;
Carry out selective research on the internet;
Compile a critical bibliography;
Integrate material from a variety of sources (principally academic works) into a coherent argument in Spanish in an extended piece of work;
Demonstrate good knowledge of structures and conventions of written Spanish;
Show evidence of progression by presenting arguments of greater sophistication and at a higher linguistic level than in the Level I Spanish Language Project.
