Description The module is an introduction, at MA-level, to a number of philosophical issues that have a relevance to the analytic philosophy of religion and ethics, such as:
  • The nature of divine freedom
  • The existence of God
  • Alternative concepts of God
  • The meaning of Life
  • Realism, idealism and scepticism
  • Sex and Death
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • show familiarity with advanced research on major positions and arguments in relevant fields.
  • show familiarity with advanced philosophical terminology and argumentative techniques.
  • Be able to articulate and defend a position on some of the technical questions covered in the module.
