The module aims to develop students’ skills to a high level in the following areas: (i) researching topics independently; (ii) using a wide range of authentic German materials; (iii) expressing themselves in German, both orally and in writing; (iv) translating non-fiction texts from German into English.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Have achieved level C1/C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Research and present, orally and in writing, findings and analyses of a range of topics;
Have a demonstrable understanding of how to translate non-fiction texts such as newspaper articles into English, for a specific purpose or readership.
Research and make a formal presentation on a topic of his/her choice
