It focuses on the conceptual tools required for the analysis of the source text prior to translation and the key theoretical approaches and strategies to carrying out a translation. It also examines the importance of pragmatic, socio-cultural, and ethical considerations in informing translation decisions.

evaluate key approaches to translation practice by examining their advantages and disadvantages for translation practice
analyse a source document and identify potential textual and cognitive difficulties
Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the significance of the decisions that have to be made during the process of translation
