Description How has theological thinking influenced the development of modern political philosophy? There are a wide range of ways that our conception of rights, persons, political community and citizenship have all been developed in relationship or tension with theological forms of reflection. In this module students will be introduced to key texts and thinkers who have influenced the development of political philosophy.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the history and development of religious forms of political philosophy
  • Analyse and compare secular and theological forms of political philosophical reflection
  • analyse a core text
