Description The Creative Media Project module is designed to allow students to develop a cultural or creative product alongside critical and reflective work that engages with issues such as marketing, audience, cost and implementation. Students will conceptualise, develop, and deliver a creative or media product, whether it be a film, game, digital artwork, or another form of creative media output. Emphasis will be placed not just on the creation process, but also on understanding and articulating the underlying principles, inspirations, and challenges that arise during development. Students will also produce a critical commentary accompanying their media output. This reflective piece will delve into the theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and design choices made, allowing for a deeper critical engagement with their work. It will also allow students the opportunity to develop a delivery plan for the product, putting into practice the wider learning on their programme of study through experiential learning.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Develop and project-manage a significant creative, digital or media product from design to delivery
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to measure the success of a creative, digital or media product, and how to respond to success measures
  • Critically assess a creative, digital or media product through reflection on audience, cost and marketing.
  • Identify iterative changes to a product that will allow for its future development
