Description
This module taught in French follows on from Beginners French Language. Students’ knowledge of more complex lexical, grammatical and rhetorical structures will be developed across the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Through authentic materials and classroom discussion, students will engage with practical everyday life topics, as well as with social and cultural aspects of the French-speaking world, including the use of colloquialisms. The module also explores how the past shapes current issues in the French-speaking world, enabling students to understand and bridge cultural differences in preparation for the year abroad. They will be expected to reach level B1 of the CEFR.
