Exclusions
Description This module is an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of real-world curatorial projects and workplace environments in the museum and gallery sector. In collaboration with one of our partner institutions, students will work in groups to develop and deliver a curatorial project in a professional context. Students will develop a range of skills relevant to each project and to the wider sector, such as working collaboratively, public programming, interpretation, display, communication and marketing. The module is delivered by academic staff and gallery professionals.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the institutional context of the curatorial project, with reference to relevant policy documents and practices
  • demonstrate a sophisticated knowledge of relevant methods and approaches in museum and gallery practices
  • Critically reflect on the skills and knowledge they have developed on the curatorial project
  • demonstrate advanced proficiency in writing skills

1 x learning portfolio, 4,000 words (100%)
