Description This module offers you the opportunity to explore the process of artistic and cultural creation, empowering you as a leader to confidently shape and bring projects and events to life. It focuses on exploring the practical aspects of project execution, from initial ideas to final outcomes and beyond. You will learn about live events, exploring the possibilities offered by fields such as lighting, sound, text, and visuals to enrich artistic visions and cultural expression. You will be encouraged to analyse successful project examples to gain further insights into selected creative processes and to glean valuable insights into the practical art of creativity. In parallel, you will cultivate your ability to collaborate effectively with key team members, enabling you to liaise productively with a diverse range of professionals in the sector. Ultimately, this module aims to hone your ability to deliver impactful and innovative cultural and creative outputs by leveraging a spectrum of available resources.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of creative project realisation through exploration and experimentation
  • Analyse and evaluate selected creative outputs in terms of their presentation, staging and/or engagement with their audience
  • Reflect on the collaborative processes involved in project realisation and their impact on shaping final decisions
  • Respond effectively to feedback through project refinement and adaptability
Assessment 40628-01 : Project Portfolio 2000 words : Log Book/ Portfolio (75%)
40628-02 : Viva : Coursework (25%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:

Project portfolio: task-based work, equivalent to 2000-words (75%). This may include designs and text-based outputs, such as programme or curatorial notes.

Viva (25%), exploring collaborative and project management skills. This may be undertaken in groups or individually, with approx. 4-5 minutes allocated for each student. Students will be marked individually.

Reassessment:

Project portfolio: task-based work, equivalent to 2000-words (75%). This may include designs and text-based outputs, such as programme or curatorial notes.

Viva (25%), exploring collaborative and project management skills. This may be undertaken in groups or individually, with approx. 4-5 minutes allocated for each student. Students will be marked individually.
