Description
The project offers you the opportunity of undertaking independent research on a topic in the field of the Cultural and Creative Industries. The Project is the culmination of your degree programme, allowing you to draw on the analytical, creative, business, entrepreneurial and critical skills you have developed throughout your studies to deliver an independently conceived research project on a relevant subject. The types of project that students might undertake range from theoretical scholarly work on a problem in the field through to creative, social, civic or entrepreneurial projects that have more direct impact on local communities, organisations, artists and initiatives. Students will be supported in the curation of their project by a supervisor and will be guided through the module with lectures and workshops devoted to the skills and knowledge required to conduct independent research in the field.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate a high level of expertise and enterprise in the collection, organisation and
presentation of materials appropriate to research in the cultural and creative industries.
Demonstrate the ability to formulate, design and pursue independent research to a successful conclusion.
Select, interrogate, and apply appropriate methods, approaches and techniques to the demands of a research project
Articulate a sophisticated understanding of the way academic research relates to the cultural and creative industries, taking into account relevant ethical and cultural issues, as appropriate.
