Description
This module examines the role of leaders in developing character education in schools and other organisations. Within the module, students will consider various leadership theories and critically debate the character virtues of a “good” leader. Students will consider how leadership theories might underpin the leadership of character education within schools and organisations and will examine the challenges of leading character education programmes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Understand and know about different organisational and leadership styles and approaches, with particular reference to leading character education change.
Demonstrate a critical understanding of a leader’s responsibility for leading character education within a school or organisation.
Implement a new character education initiative and critically evaluate its influence on a school or organisation.

29371-02 : 1500 Word Report : Coursework (50%)

Assessments: a 10 minute recorded presentation (50%) supported by a 1,500 word written report (50%). Reassessment: As above (revised submissions).
